| What
is Kilduff's ? " Kilduff's " was started in 2001 to index a series of photographs and information of surviving Baltimore movie theatres that existed in Baltimore. The theatre index has since grown to include all movie theatres in Maryland built between 1900 and 1950. There are plans to add several movie theatres built after 1950 which have since been replaced as well. |

| Who was John Kilduff ? John Kilduff was my grandfather, who passed away in 2000. For many years , he was a commerical artists for several big movie houses in downtown Baltimore, including the Century / Valencia, Keiths, and the Parkway. I suspect he also did work for the Hippodrome, Mayfair and New. After he passed away, copies of his work and original art work were found in his collection for the many old movies for which he worked on. He would also work on the theatre fronts, in which large signs and posters were displayed in front of the theatres, showing the public the next big show. |

| After working on the theatre
index for many years, and with the assistance of my brother , Adam Paul,
I began to notice other buildings of a forgotten Baltimore. Please be sure to visit Adam's site
at this link. In 2004, I began to collect old postcards, maps, advertisements
and photographs of Baltimore, which
showed a view of the City quite different from the City today. While
I'm not one to say the past was by any means better than today, I do believe
that a place where someone can sit back and remember the Baltimore that was
once is needed all the more. I pass by these buildings and locations all
the time, and I have tried to document as many as possible on this web site.
Ideas, suggestions, corrections and complaints are always welcome. ...................................................
