| Clifton 314 South Broadway Photo taken back in the mid 1980's. The area has been spruced up over the years, and the building still stands. The Clifton was a small store front theatre, listed on insurance maps but disappeared from the theatre listings by the 1920's. So far, I have yet to find a advertisement for same. |

| Royal 1712 North Monroe Street Very early Baltimore theatre, only operated for a few years. Long since converted and still in use, as a funeral home. There were actually several " Royal" Theatres around Baltimore, this was one of the earlier ones. References are found on insurance maps but the notes are only made until the 1920's. |

Majestic - Arcadia Theatre 320 South Broadway Fell's Point, Maryland Another early ( 1910's ) era store front Baltimore movie house. When movies forst came out, many store front movie houses popped up all over Baltimore, until buildings actually made to show movies began to show up. Like many of these smaller nickleodeons, the Majestic only lasted a few short years. Back in the mid 1980's, much of Fell's Point was undergoing renovation. For much of the 1960's and 1970's, plans were for a highway to come through, so many of the buildings just sat until those plans were finally scrapped. This, of course, was the time when I came through with my camera, thus the photos of shells I have provided. Happy to say, the area is much improved in 2011. |
