Now for those photos that just don't fit into any other category. As you may have already noticed, Kilduff's comes up with all types of Baltimore photos from years gone by. We have a pile of old photos that are general shots of the City, and below you will find what we have. Please feel free to tell what you know of each photo.
Baltimore Skyline 1914  
...This view appears to be towards the northeast , from perhaps the Bromo Tower (?) . You can clearly see the Tower Building in the background. Much of what is seen in this picture has been torn down over the years. Picture is circa 1914.
...Looking west along Baltimore Street towards the southwest, from perhaps the Tower Building. You can see the Sun Building in the center of the photo and in the background, the Bromo Building, with the giant bottle of Bromo of top of it.

...Looking towards the Southeast , at Baltimore's harbor back in the 1950's. The concept of Charles Center and the Inner Harbor had not yet come to reality. The park on the left side of the picture is Preston Gardens, on the lower right is the Baltimore Gas & Electric building, and in the center, the Art Deco Maryland National Bank building.

I believe this view is east on Fayette Street from Charles Street. The building in the center appears to be the old Post Office building.
The building on the left is the Baltimore Circuit Court Building.

....Looking north on St. Paul Street, from Lexington Street over the years . The gardens in the center are known as the Preston Gardens, named after the Baltimore mayor who had the gardens put in. On the right, center, you can see the old Mercy Hospital building, long since replaced. The tall building in the background is the Standard Oil Building, and just in front of that is the Orleans Street Viaduct.

 The area has changed a lot over the years, and the street was made into a " mini - mall ". There are plans in the works to redo the entire area, with the old Read's store on the right side of the picture part of the renovation plans, as well as that entire block.
