older postcard on EBAY these days for Salisbury, it is very likely
to be a shot which you see above of the Arcade Theatre. The Arcade was
listed in the Film Daily from the late 1920's to at least the mid 1950's,
and seated between 750 and 950 people. From what I understand, the old theatre
burned down many years ago. The Film Daily Yearbook also lists the
following Salisbury Theatres through the years : Boulevard at 317 East Main Street New ( listed in 1939 - seating 450 ) Opera House ( listed in 1928 - seating 500 ) Rio Ulman's ( listed in 1939 - seating 600 ) Wicomico |
